Job summary

• Commercial judgment, including investigating invoice costs before processing.
• Ability to work autonomously, take action and report outcomes.
• Persistence in following up with banks, accountants and debtors, with appropriate escalation.
• Precise written English for communication across time zones.

Beyond EQT Real Estate Development Ltd (Cyprus) is hiring on behalf of the group it belongs to.

The group operates in real estate development and contracting, software development and business intelligence, and private investment holding. Entities are located across Europe, the Middle East and South Asia, with another entity being incorporated. One business intelligence entity develops analytics for casino games; this role owns its bookkeeping, filings and banking alongside those of other group entities.

You report directly to the founder. There is no existing internal finance function; external accountants handle filings in each country while the founder manages other finance activities. You will build and operate the finance function, establishing accounting systems, processes, an obligations calendar and reporting. Routine work will later be handed to a junior hire.

Job Specification

• Experience as the sole finance person, head of finance, or number two in an in-house finance team of six or fewer.
• Small-company background; experience working across the full finance function.
• Five to ten years of post-degree finance experience across more than one entity and more than one tax regime.
