Job summary

RepairDesk is seeking an experienced software engineer to join our team building scalable web and mobile applications. You will collaborate with product designers and managers to deliver user-friendly, high-performance software, write clean code, and implement robust APIs with solid frontend-backend integration.

You will optimise existing systems, participate in code reviews, and leverage AI-assisted tools to boost productivity and ensure secure, cost-efficient deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in backend(Node.js, PHP) and frontend (Vue.js).
• Experience with REST APIs, OO and DB design.
• Familiarity with AWS, Git and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable front-end and back-end applications for web and mobile.
• Collaborate with designers, PMs, and engineers to build high-performance software.
• Write clean, efficient code following best practices.
• Create and implement use cases and tests for APIs; ensure frontend-backend integration.
• Test, troubleshoot, debug, and optimise systems for performance and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold quality standards.
• Optimize legacy algorithms and leverage AI-assisted development tools.
• Ensure data privacy and cost optimization in AI-assisted workflows.
• Provide regular progress updates to the team lead.

The software is customisable to meet the workflows of single-store, multi-store, and franchise repair businesses in various industry verticals. Responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining scalable front-end and back-end applications for web and mobile platforms.
• Collaborating with product designers, product managers, and other engineers to build user-friendly, high-performance software.
• Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices in software development.
• Writing and Implementing comprehensive use cases and test cases for APIs and ensuring seamless integration between front-end and back-end systems.
• Testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and optimising existing systems for performance and scalability.
• Participating in code reviews, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining quality standards.
• Utilize expertise to optimize legacy algorithms for improved software performance.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools for code generation, refactoring, and optimization to improve productivity and reduce development time.
• Ensure responsible and secure use of AI, including data privacy and cost optimization.
• Provide regular progress updates and reports to the team lead.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field)
• 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Strong proficiency in backend languages (Node.js and PHP).
• Solid experience with modern frontend frameworks (Vue.js preferred).
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs and expertise in Object Oriented Design and Database Design.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS).
• Experience with version control systems (Git).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps basics.
• Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to following coding best practices.
