Job summary

Brickstech is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer who sits at the intersection of engineering, AI, product, and enterprise customers. You will collaborate with customers to understand complex problems, rapidly build and deploy AI-powered solutions, and turn feedback into scalable product capabilities.

This role requires hands-on deployment from discovery to production, translating requirements into architecture, prototypes, and production code, with ownership of delivery and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of professional software engineering, solutions engineering, implementation engineering, or a similar technical role.
• Strong programming experience in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Go, or similar.
• Experience building and deploying production applications.
• Strong understanding of APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and software architecture.
• Experience working directly with customers or enterprise stakeholders.

About the Role

We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) who sits at the intersection of engineering, AI, product, and enterprise customers.

You will work directly with customers to understand complex business and technical problems, rapidly build and deploy solutions, integrate AI into real-world workflows, and turn customer feedback into scalable product capabilities.

This is not a traditional software engineering role. You should be comfortable moving from a customer meeting → technical architecture → prototype → production deployment without needing separate teams for every step.

What You’ll Do

• Work directly with enterprise customers to understand their technical and business challenges.
• Translate ambiguous customer requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Design, build, test, and deploy production-grade applications and AI-powered solutions.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts rapidly to validate ideas.
• Integrate LLMs, AI agents, APIs, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Build integrations with platforms such as CRM, ERP, DevOps, cloud, data, and collaboration tools.
• Deploy solutions into customer environments and troubleshoot issues in production.
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to convert recurring customer requirements into core product features.
• Own technical delivery from discovery through deployment and adoption.
• Create reusable frameworks, integrations, and accelerators that reduce future deployment time.
• Participate in customer workshops, technical demos, architecture discussions, and solution design sessions.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both engineers and senior business stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to expand customer use cases and demonstrate additional product value.

AI & Engineering Responsibilities

• Build applications using modern AI/LLM technologies.
• Work with LLM APIs, RAG, vector databases, AI agents, tool calling, evaluation frameworks, and AI orchestration.
• Develop reliable AI workflows with appropriate monitoring, testing, security, and guardrails.
• Build APIs and backend services required to operationalize AI solutions.
• Work with cloud platforms and modern deployment practices.
• Understand software architecture, databases, authentication, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Rapidly evaluate new AI technologies and determine where they can create meaningful customer value.

What We’re Looking For

Required

• 3–7+ years of professional software engineering, solutions engineering, implementation engineering, or a similar technical role.
• Strong programming experience in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Go, or similar.
• Experience building and deploying production applications.
• Strong understanding of APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and software architecture.
• Experience working directly with customers or enterprise stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate with ambiguous requirements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and move quickly from concept to implementation.
• Strong understanding of modern AI/LLM capabilities and limitations.

Preferred

• Experience building AI agents, RAG systems, copilots, or LLM-powered applications.
• Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or other leading AI APIs.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience integrating enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, SAP, Microsoft, Jira, GitHub, or similar.
• Startup experience where you have had to wear multiple hats.
• Experience working with Fortune 500 / enterprise customers.
• Experience in consulting, professional services, solutions architecture, or technical implementation.
• Experience taking prototypes into production.
