CBRE Group, Inc. seeks a Facilities Engineer to lead safe, reliable operation of client facilities, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and critical infrastructure.

You will oversee maintenance programs, energy management, and compliance while coordinating with vendors and stakeholders. You will manage UPS, power distribution, BMS, and life-safety systems, ensure uptime, and drive continuous improvement across facilities and data spaces.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, electronics, or related engineering discipline.
  • Professional engineering qualification is preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in facilities management or similar environments.
  • Experience with MEP systems, critical infrastructure, maintenance, reliability, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage maintenance strategies for electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and building systems.
  • Ensure uptime and resilience of critical facilities including data centers.
  • Implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs with KPIs.
  • Manage UPS, generators, power distribution, and electrical assets.
  • Develop electrical drawings, load schedules, and technical records.
  • Oversee HVAC and cooling, including chillers and ventilation systems.
  • Implement and maintain risk assessments, PTW, LOTO, and life safety programs.
  • Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and project plans for refurbishments and upgrades.
  • Lead vendors, contractors, testing, and system handovers.
  • Prepare operational and compliance reports for CBRE and clients.

Job description

About the Role:

The Facilities Engineer is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of client facilities, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, critical infrastructure, building systems, life safety, and facility support services.

The role covers facilities operations, maintenance, reliability, projects, vendor management, HSE, compliance, energy management, financial control, and client stakeholder management.

What You’ll Do:
  • Develop, implement, and manage operational and maintenance strategies for electrical, mechanical, HVAC, critical infrastructure, and building systems.
  • Ensure maximum uptime, reliability, redundancy, and operational resilience of critical facilities, data centers, server rooms, and technology spaces.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance programs, including maintenance schedules, procedures, and KPIs.
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain UPS systems, battery banks, generators, ATS/STS, MV/LV systems, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, PDUs, power distribution, earthing, lightning protection, and power monitoring systems.
  • Develop and maintain electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, load schedules, technical records, and operating procedures.
  • Manage HVAC and cooling infrastructure including chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, cooling towers, pumps, ventilation, and associated systems to maintain required environmental conditions.
  • Develop and implement operational controls for BMS, environmental monitoring systems, fire alarm systems, VESDA, access control, CCTV, leak detection, emergency lighting, and life safety systems.
  • Monitor facility alarms, alerts, and monitoring platforms; respond promptly to system abnormalities, critical alarms, equipment failures, and incidents, ensuring timely investigation, escalation, corrective actions, and restoration of services.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, maintenance records, asset registers, logbooks, technical documentation, and statutory compliance records.
  • Monitor equipment performance, maintenance compliance, MTBF, MTTR, and reliability metrics; conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), asset lifecycle planning, critical spare parts management, and infrastructure reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare scopes of work, technical specifications, budgets, schedules, and implementation plans for refurbishment, replacement, upgrade, and expansion projects.
  • Lead and coordinate vendors, contractors, testing, commissioning activities, project execution, and system handovers.
  • Develop and implement risk assessments, Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), emergency preparedness, and contractor safety programs.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements, engineering standards, statutory regulations, HSE requirements, and audit obligations.
  • Manage vendor and contractor performance, including technical evaluations, quotations, SLAs, KPIs, service quality, and safety compliance.
  • Develop, monitor, and control OPEX and CAPEX budgets, forecasts, maintenance expenditure, service contracts, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Identify, develop, and implement energy efficiency, sustainability, and operational optimization programs.
  • Manage building fabric and support services including civil, plumbing, architectural, housekeeping, waste management, pest control, and other soft services.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor engineering teams by setting performance objectives, allocating resources, and promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, service providers, and internal teams while managing service requests and escalations.
  • Prepare and present operational, maintenance, HSE, reliability, financial, energy, and compliance reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Uphold and promote CBRE and client values, policies, procedures, and standards.
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Professional engineering qualification is preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Facilities Management, Critical Facilities, Data Centers, Banking, Telecommunications, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Commercial Buildings, or similar environments.
  • Strong experience in MEP systems, critical infrastructure, maintenance, reliability, projects, vendor management, HSE, compliance, and stakeholder management.
  • Facility Management certification is desired. Driver's license may be required.
