Role Overview

Expert Transport Network Operations – IP

Responsibilities

• Day‑to‑day Operation & Maintenance of nationwide IP network backbone
• Handle customer complaints (corporate & commercial)
• Configuration management, troubleshooting
• Inter‑operate with vendor/support teams for ongoing issues, projects, audits and upgrades
• Ensure smooth operation and maintenance of IP‑MPLS‑MPBN, IXP, Enterprise Data Network
• Define and maintain VPN tunnels (Site‑to‑Site IPSec, Remote Access)
• Prepare MOPs and SOPs for the team
• Ensure inter‑VRF routing as required
• Troubleshoot L‑2 and L‑3 routing protocols (OSPF, IS‑IS, MPLS, BGP, VRRP, STP)
• Configure firewall flows, NAT for internet connectivity
• Process planning team work‑orders for new flows and expansions
• Provide network support to nationwide Jazz sales and zonal offices
• Provide level 1 and level 2 support to other teams
• Provide Wi‑Fi support to nation‑wide Jazz offices
• Ensure smooth operation of Call Center Network Operations (voice & data)
• Provide network support to Jazz data centre and MSC locations
• Identify network optimisation needs and discuss implementation plans
• Perform network audits and redundancy tests regularly
• Install and support Google, Facebook, Akamai cache servers for capacity upgrades
• Support on‑site MPBN network expansion
• Willingness to work in scheduled shifts as per operations practice

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience with IP‑MPLS (Service Provider) & Enterprise networks
• Hands‑on experience with IXP network infrastructure
• Deep understanding of MPLS protocol and network topologies
• Familiarity with CLI of Huawei, Juniper and Fortinet IP devices
• Excellent command of BGP (iBGP & eBGP), MPLS, RSVP, LDP, OSPF, IS‑IS, RIP, and static routing
• Experience with Huawei NCE NMS systems, MRTG, UFM and related tools
• Knowledge of electrical & optical cable installation standards
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Learning aptitude and ability to work under pressure
• Willingness to work 24/7 shift basis, including public holidays as an emergency resource
• Ability to engage vendors for timely service restoration
