Job summary

HR-Business-Solutions seeks a Head of Electrical Engineering in Kinshasa to lead electrical scope from concept through commissioning across grid, utility, industrial and MEP projects. You will guide design quality, safety, and compliance, while building a capable engineering team and managing technical risks.

The role requires 20+ years’ experience, strong leadership, tendering expertise, and fluency in English (French is a plus).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; postgraduate qualification advantageous.
• 20+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience.
• Experience in tender engineering, BOQ and cost review, and project execution through commissioning.
• Knowledge of IEC / IEEE standards, utility and client specifications.
• Fluent English; French language is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and supplier/factory locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership for concept to handover across grid, utility, industrial, and MEP projects.
• Oversee tendering, design reviews, cost estimates and change control.
• Coordinate with PMO, procurement, factory, installation and commissioning teams for aligned execution.
• Ensure designs are safe, compliant, buildable and meet contract requirements and standards.
• Lead technical reviews for bids and projects and manage interface with clients and suppliers.
• Develop engineering capability and build disciplined working culture across teams.
