JOB OVERVIEW
Our client is a leading Medical Products Manufacturer seeking for a Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to ensure compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, minimizing environmental and occupational risks, and continuously improving EHS standards across the manufacturing operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. EHS Management
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the organization's EHS policies, procedures, standards, and programs.
- Lead the implementation and monitoring of the EHS Management System across manufacturing and support functions.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety observations, and EHS compliance assessments.
- Identify workplace hazards and assess risks, implementing appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
- Monitor and improve safety performance through appropriate EHS KPIs and action plans.
2.Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with applicable occupational health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement programs covering workplace safety, occupational health, emergency preparedness, fire safety, chemical safety, PPE, and hazardous materials management.
- Lead incident, accident, near-miss, and occupational injury investigations and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
- Coordinate emergency response, evacuation drills, fire drills, and other emergency preparedness activities.
- Monitor the effective use of PPE and ensure appropriate safety standards are maintained throughout the workplace.
- Promote a strong safety culture through awareness programs, toolbox meetings, campaigns, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Monitor environmental compliance and ensure adherence to applicable environmental regulations and permits.
- Oversee waste management, hazardous waste handling, wastewater, emissions, chemical storage, and other environmental aspects.
- Coordinate environmental monitoring and support initiatives aimed at reducing waste, emissions, energy consumption, and environmental risks.
- Maintain appropriate environmental records, reports, and compliance documentation.
4.Compliance & Audits
- Ensure compliance with applicable EHS laws, regulations, permits, standards, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external EHS audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Support customer, certification, regulatory, and third-party audits.
- Maintain proper EHS documentation, registers, licenses, inspection records, and statutory reports.
- Track corrective and preventive actions and report EHS compliance status to management.
- Identify EHS training requirements and develop annual EHS training plans.
- Conduct or coordinate training on workplace safety, chemical handling, PPE, emergency response, fire safety, ergonomics, waste management, and other relevant topics.
- Build EHS awareness and accountability among employees, supervisors, and management.
6.Risk & Continuous Improvement
- Lead risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), and related activities.
- Analyze EHS incidents and trends to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce workplace risks and improve EHS performance.
- Prepare periodic EHS performance reports and present key findings and recommendations to senior management.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications in NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 or other relevant EHS certifications would be an advantage.
- 5–8+ years of relevant EHS experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience at Assistant Manager / Manager level or demonstrated experience leading EHS activities independently.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health & safety, environmental compliance, risk assessment, incident investigation, and EHS management systems.
