Job summary

Sui Southern Gas Company Limited is seeking a qualified tax professional to prepare and file income and other tax related documents. The role involves developing tax strategies and ensuring compliance with local and federal tax laws.

The ideal candidate holds an MBA in Finance or ACCA with at least 2 years of relevant experience and will support in the preparation of tax MIS reports, withholding tax statements, and tax refunds coordination with authorities.

Qualifications

• MBA Finance from an institute recognized by HEC or ACCA.
• ACCA with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of local and federal tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementation of Organization’s Income Tax policies and procedures.
• Prepare and file income tax returns and related notifications on time.
• Coordinate with tax authorities and resolve issues via IRIS/PRAL portals.
• Prepare MIS reports on income and other taxes as required by senior management.
• Ensure timely withholding tax deductions for vendors and employees.
• Reconcile General Ledger with statutory statements.

Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to prepare and file income and other tax related documents. The position also carries out the development of, reviews tax strategies, and policies that help the organization comply with local and federal tax laws and regulations, identify tax problems and propose solutions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in implementation of Organization’s Income Tax policies and objectives and ensure that Income Tax Policies & Procedures are appropriately documented and properly implemented for timely and accurate filing of income tax returns and notifications in compliance with laws and regulations.
• Implement the income tax compliance profile of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), ensuring that income tax related returns and filing requirements are understood and documented and filings and payments are made on time.
• Accurately prepare and submit for review by immediate supervisor before filing income tax and any refund claims in accordance with applicable laws.
• Assist in implementation of Organization’s Income Tax policies and objectives and ensure that Income Tax Policies & Procedures are appropriately documented and properly implemented for timely and accurate filing of income tax returns and notifications in compliance with laws and regulations.
• Implement the income tax compliance profile of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), ensuring that income tax related returns and filing requirements are understood and documented and filings and payments are made on time.
• Accurately prepare and submit for review by immediate supervisor before filing income tax and any refund claims in accordance with applicable laws.
• Initiate accurate reconciliation of General Ledger (GL) with Statutory Statements on a timely basis.
• Support Finance Payable Sections on a weekly / monthly basis to ensure that withholding tax is deducted as per applicable rates for Vendors and Employees.
• Support in submission of Quarterly and Annual Withholding Tax Statements on FBR’s IRIS web-portal and coordinate with FBR / PRAL for resolution of issues faced during e-filing of statements.
• Monitor transactions and govern strict adherence to procedures and guidelines to ensure that accounting books and records are properly maintained, according to taxation laws and local regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of MIS reports regarding income and other taxes according to the defined frequency as required for review by senior management.
• Ensure issuance of Withholding Tax Deduction Certificates and Tax Challans to Vendors on a timely basis
• Assist senior supervisor in coordinating with tax authorities pertaining to issuance of tax exemption certificates to SSGC and employee retirement benefit fund on half-yearly basis.
• Assist senior supervisor in coordinating with tax authorities regarding tax refunds and manage the resolution of queries.
• The individual shall ensure compliance to the Enterprise Risk Management Framework enforced in the Company while performing job responsibilities in accordance with his assigned role.
• The individual shall ensure compliance to the Business Principles and Ethics Policy / Code of Conduct.
• Undertake any other task as assigned by the supervisor.
