Job description

Responsibilities

• Monitor and tune database performance.
• Provide consultation to Application Development teams on tuning and best practices.
• Extensive experience leading troubleshooting calls with various infrastructure and application teams.
• Efficiently work with MongoDB vendor to find root cause for complex database issues.
• In-Depth knowledge of MongoDB and ability to troubleshoot complex issues is a must.
• In-depth knowledge in Linux and storage internals that influence database activity is a must.
• Install and manage MongoDB Software, build replica sets per requirements and standards.
• Design and implement redundancy and fail‑over strategies.
• Design and implement backup and restoration strategies with the ability to restore to a point in time.
• Apply Quarterly Patches and troubleshoot any issues with patching (requires good understanding of the internal processes).
• Setup and manage Ops Manager Infrastructure, and setup monitoring using Ops Manager.
• Automation of routine database operations using Ansible, with broad understanding of CI/CD tools.
• Participate in 24*7 On‑call support to resolve Incident tickets and be responsible for database availability.
• Mentor team members to develop talent.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Ability to stay very organized while managing multiple tasks and activities and takes initiative and is a self‑starter.
• Knowledge in MongoDB Atlas is a plus.
• Strong collaboration skills and experience working across multiple teams both within a division and enterprise‑wide.
• Strong interpersonal, problem solving, facilitation, and prioritization skills.
• Strong technical acumen, able to ensure that technical solutions, strategies, practices, and governance deliver business and customer value.
• Development experience with one or more modern scripting/automation languages (Ansible, Python, etc.) - preferred.
• Strong Team Lead skills.

Required Experience & Education

• 5 - 8 years of relevant experience with design/implementation of MongoDB replica sets and sharded clusters.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Automation tools and technologies like Ansible, GitHub, and similar CI/CD technologies.
• Energy, integrity, and strong work ethic.
