Job summary

NorthBay Solutions is seeking an experienced Data Management Maturity & Governance Lead to drive data governance and maturity initiatives across the organization. The role focuses on assessments, governance frameworks, policies, standards, controls, gap analyses, remediation, evidence management, and compliance readiness.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of professional experience in Data Governance or related fields.
• Strong experience in enterprise data governance and data management maturity programs.
• Hands-on experience conducting data maturity assessments and gap assessments.
• Experience developing and implementing data policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, and governance controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead data management maturity and governance initiatives across the organization.
• Assess existing data management capabilities against defined maturity requirements and assessment criteria.
• Conduct data maturity and gap assessments and identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop, review, and maintain data governance policies, standards, procedures, frameworks, and guidelines.
• Define and implement data governance controls, processes, roles, and responsibilities.
• Coordinate with business and technical stakeholders to implement governance practices.
• Develop and maintain remediation plans for identified governance and maturity gaps.
• Track remediation actions, ownership, timelines, dependencies, and closure status.
• Define, collect, validate, organize, and maintain evidence and supporting documentation for requirements.
• Ensure policies, procedures, controls, and evidence align with assessment requirements.
• Establish repositories for governance documentation, approvals, evidence, and records.
• Support audits, maturity assessments, compliance reviews, and governance assessments.
