Job summary

Alpha Mu Digital Ventures in Karachi is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer with 2–3 years of experience to own our analytics data stack. You will ingest data, transform it into analytics-ready models, and support initial reporting and visualization needs.

Design, build ETL pipelines with Fivetran, manage datasets in BigQuery, and develop data models with dbt while ensuring quality and scalability across pipelines. Looker Studio dashboards will be created to meet stakeholder needs.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of data engineering or analytics engineering experience.
• Hands-on with BigQuery, dbt, and Looker Studio.
• Strong SQL and data modeling knowledge (fact tables, dimensions, star schema).

Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on Data Engineer with 2–3 years of experience who can work independently and take ownership of building and maintaining our analytics data stack. You will be responsible for ingesting data, transforming it into analytics-ready models, and supporting initial reporting and visualization needs.

This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in a lean environment, can manage tasks end-to-end, and enjoys solving data problems without heavy supervision.

Design, build, and maintain reliable ETL pipelines using Fivetran

Manage and optimize datasets within Google BigQuery

Develop, test, and maintain data models using dbt following analytics engineering best practices

Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across pipelines

Create and support initial dashboards and reports using Looker Studio (free version)

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable solutions

Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot data issues proactively

Document data models, transformations, and workflows clearly

Qualifications

2–3 years of experience in a Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering role

Strong hands-on experience with:

BigQuery as a cloud data warehouse

dbt for transformations and data modeling

Solid understanding of SQL and data modeling concepts (fact tables, dimensions, star schemas)

Experience building basic dashboards or reports using Looker Studio

Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively

Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
