Job summary

WAMO Labs is seeking recent graduates and early-career data engineers to join the team in Lahore. You will build and maintain data pipelines, transform and validate data, and support data governance initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams on data-driven projects.

The role emphasizes strong fundamentals in SQL, Python, and databases, with exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and modern tooling like Airflow and dbt. Immediate joiners are preferred.

Qualifications

• Fresh graduates with a strong foundation in SQL and Python.
• Familiarity with Git and version-control practices is a plus.
• Knowledge of data pipelines, ETL/ELT concepts and data governance is valued.

Job description

This role is designed for fresh graduates and early-career professionals with a strong foundation in SQL, Python, databases, and data engineering concepts. You’ll work on real-world projects, build reliable data pipelines, improve data quality, and support data governance and compliance initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to data-driven products and solutions, and continuously strengthen your technical and analytical skills using modern data engineering practices.

What you'll do

• Build, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot reliable data pipelines and data-quality issues.
• Clean, transform, validate, and integrate data from multiple sources.
• Strong understanding of SQL and Python.
• Support data warehouse design, development, and maintenance using knowledge of databases, data structures, and ETL/ELT concepts.
• Support data governance through documentation, lineage, quality standards, access controls, privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Exposure to Airflow, dbt, Spark, or data governance tools.
• Ensure data processes align with organizational policies, security standards, and applicable regulations.

What we're looking for

• Familiarity with Git and version-control practices.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or PowerBI is a plus
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and attention-to-detail.
