Job summary

Sui Southern Gas Company Limited is seeking a highly experienced Crane Operator with a valid HTV driving license to support heavy lifting on our site in Karachi. You will operate truck-mounted and hydraulic cranes, following lifting plans, and ensure safe setup under confined site conditions.

The role requires at least 10 years of crane operation experience across construction, pipeline, oil & gas, or related infra projects, with strong HSSE awareness and teamwork to coordinate with riggers,

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate truck-mounted hydraulic cranes following lifting plans and safety procedures.

• Perform pre-operation inspections and ensure equipment readiness.
• Coordinate with riggers, supervisors and site personnel during lifting activities.
• Maintain operational logs and report maintenance needs.

Job description

Matriculate with a valid HTV Driving License and certification as a Crane Operator from a recognized technical institution or relevant training body. Candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years' experience in operating Truck-Mounted, Hydraulic, Boom Cranes, or similar lifting equipment. Proven experience in construction, industrial, utility, pipeline, oil & gas, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects. Applicants should have experience in heavy lifting operations and working under confined site conditions.

Responsibilities:

Operational Responsibilities

• Operate truck-mounted cranes safely and efficiently for lifting, loading, unloading, and transportation-related activities.
• Perform lifting operations in accordance with approved lifting plans and safety procedures.
• Position and stabilize crane equipment using outriggers and other safety mechanisms before commencing lifting activities.
• Assess worksite conditions and ensure safe crane setup prior to operations.
• Transport crane equipment to designated work locations as assigned.

Safety Responsibilities

• Ensure strict compliance with organizational Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) requirements.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections of crane systems, controls, brakes, hydraulic systems, wire ropes, hooks, outriggers, and safety devices.
• Verify load weights and lifting capacities before conducting lifting operations.
• Coordinate with riggers, supervisors, signalmen, and site personnel during lifting activities.

Maintenance Responsibilities

• Carry out daily inspection and routine maintenance checks of the crane and associated equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of the assigned vehicle and crane.
• Report repair and maintenance requirements promptly to the concerned department.
• Ensure proper documentation of operational hours, inspections, and maintenance activities.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Maintain operational logs, checklists, and inspection records.
• Follow instructions issued by supervisors and project manager.
• Assist in emergency response and recovery operations whenever required.
• Perform other related duties assigned by management within the scope of the position.
