Job summary

JobCenter in Khanpur, Pakistan invites applications for a Librarian to manage our library collection and assist patrons with research and inquiries. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field, Master's preferred.
• Experience in a library setting preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Knowledge of library management systems and cataloging procedures.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proficiency in English (additional languages are an asset).
• Passion for promoting literacy within the community.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain library materials including books, periodicals, audiovisual materials, and digital resources.
• Assist patrons with finding and checking out materials, and providing research and reference assistance.
• Develop and implement programs to promote literacy and reading for all age groups.
• Create displays and exhibits to showcase library resources.
• Manage the library's budget and make recommendations for new purchases.
• Catalog new materials using the Dewey Decimal System or other established classification systems.
• Train and supervise library assistants or volunteers.
• Stay up-to-date on current trends in literature, technology, and information management within the field of librarianship.
