Job summary

VentureDive is seeking a Business Analyst to bridge the PE sponsor, practice leadership, clinicians and the BI build team. You will own requirements, define metrics, and validate data for dashboards spanning portfolio-level financials to clinic-level operations.

You will reconcile reporting needs with site metrics, map data across systems, and document a shared metrics glossary with sign-off from stakeholders, ensuring HIPAA compliance in dashboards.

Qualifications

• Understanding dermatology revenue streams, payer mix, and workflows.
• Fluency with EBITDA, SSS, provider productivity benchmarks and board asks.
• Basic data modeling concepts (star schema, grain) for collaboration.
• Ability to read and validate figures using SQL.
• Precise, unambiguous metric and specification writing.
• Effective stakeholder management across competing incentives.
• Awareness of HIPAA and patient-level data considerations in dashboards.
• Familiarity with BI tools from a requirements/QA perspective is a plus.

Job Overview:

We're looking for a Business Analyst to be the translation layer between the PE sponsor and practice leadership, clinical and operational staff, and our data engineering and BI build team. You'll own requirements, define metrics, and validate data for dashboards that span portfolio-level financial reporting down to clinic-level operational detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconcile PE-level reporting needs (EBITDA, same-store growth, add-on/integration performance) with clinic-level operational metrics (patient volume, no-shows, provider productivity, procedure mix)
• Map and normalize data across multiple EMR/PM systems, billing/RCM platforms, and scheduling tools inherited from acquired locations
• Define and document a shared metrics glossary (e.g., “active patient,” “same-store,” “revenue per provider”) and secure sign-off from relevant business stakeholders, such as finance or clinical ops
• Gather and prioritize requirements across stakeholder tiers — PE sponsor/board, practice leadership, clinic managers,physicians
• Write functional specs for the BI development team: KPIs, drill-down levels (portfolio → region → clinic → provider), refresh cadence, and access permissions
• Validate dashboard output against source systems before it reaches leadership or the board

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Healthcare/dermatology domain literacy — understanding of medical vs. cosmetic revenue streams, payer mix, and clinical workflow
• Fluency in PE reporting metrics (EBITDA, SSS, provider productivity benchmarks) and ability to translate board-level asks into buildable specs
• Working knowledge of data modeling concepts (star schema, grain) to collaborate effectively with data
• engineers/architects
• SQL proficiency (reading/validating level, minimum) to independently sanity-check figures
• Strong requirements documentation discipline — precise, unambiguous metric and spec writing
• Stakeholder management across groups with competing incentives (growth/exit metrics vs. day-to-day operations)
• HIPAA/compliance awareness, particularly around patient-level data exposure in operational dashboards

Nice to Have:

• Prior experience with multi-site healthcare roll-ups or M&A-driven data consolidation
• Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) from a requirements/QA perspective
