Job summary

Speechify is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust APIs across public and internal services, supporting payments, subscriptions, text-to-speech, and analytics. You will help shape scalable backend architecture in a fast-paced, async-friendly environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align platform decisions with product strategy and user experience, delivering high-availability solutions while maintaining excellent communication

Qualifications

Proven backend development experience with TS/Node.
Direct experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS/Azure or other cloud providers.
Ability to ideate and implement tasks based on urgency and impact.
Preferred: Docker and containerized deployments.
Preferred: Kubernetes for high availability deployments.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API and internal APIs (Payment, Subscription, Auth, Consumption Tracking).
Oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing performance and maintainability.
Collaborate on B2B solutions for enterprise clients, focusing on customization and integration needs.
Work cross-functionally to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
