Job summary

Indus Hospital is seeking a dedicated health assistant with 1–2 years of experience in maternal and child health (MCH). You will assist LHVs in patient examinations, deliveries, and minor procedures, and support pregnant women and mothers during pre- and post-natal care.

You will help manage ANC and PNC patient flow, assist with newborn care under LHVs’ supervision, maintain cleanliness of OPD, waiting area, labour room and delivery tables, and ensure IPC-compliant waste disposal.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in maternal and child health (MCH) settings.
• Ability to assist LHVs in patient examinations and deliveries.
• Comply with IPC protocols and maintain hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Assist LHVs in patient examinations, deliveries, and minor procedures.
• Support pregnant women and mothers during pre- and post-natal care.
• Assist in handling newborns under the supervision of LHVs.
• Manage crowd of ANC, PNC, and family planning patients.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of OPD, waiting area, labour room and delivery tables.
• Assist LHVs during patient handling, movement, and positioning.
• Ensure cleanliness and assist in instrument sterilization.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste according to IPC protocols.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Maintain respectful and culturally sensitive behavior with patients and attendants.
• Any other task assigned by supervisor.
• Ensure proper segregation and disposal of healthcare waste in IPC-compliant manner.
• Maintain readiness and cleanliness of labour room before and after deliveries.

• Ensure proper disposal of waste according to infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols.
• Observe and report any changes in patient condition to nursing staff

• Ensure proper segregation and disposal of healthcare waste in accordance with IPC protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and disinfection of patient-care equipment, examination beds and frequently touched surfaces.
• Assist in maintaining the readiness and cleanliness of the labour room before and after deliveries
