Job summary

EY is expanding its Audit Operations Accelerator team in Lahore and Islamabad, Pakistan, to support engagement management across MENA. The role offers exposure to audit project setup, budgeting, billing cycles, and cross-country coordination with internal stakeholders.

The consultant/senior consultant will drive process improvements, leverage EY systems, and collaborate with partners to ensure timely, accurate reporting and high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience in audit or assurance.
• Degree and professional accounting qualification (ACCA/ICMA/CA) or progress towards/completion of a recognized accounting qualification

Responsibilities

• Set up audit projects and manage engagement economics (billing, budgeting, and ETC).
• Advise audit engagement partners/managers on administrative tasks and ensure progress across the engagement lifecycle.
• Drive efficiency through best practices and automation; coordinate with EY Rapid for centralized management.
• Ensure data entry quality, budgeting, and reforecasting of engagements with timely billings and ad hoc reporting.
• Participate in regional calls/meetings related to AOA and update local practices in MENA.

We are actively recruiting professionals as Assurance Business Partner (“ABP”) role to join us at Consultant/Senior Consultant level for our Audit Operations Accelerator Team (“AOA”) team in MENA. The opportunity

We are expanding our MENA Audit COE in Lahore and Islamabad, Pakistan, providing an opportunity to work on MENA projects and deal with MENA clients. This can provide lots of learning and development prospects as well as the chance to travel to the MENA region.

Key responsibilities

As a conusltant or Senior consultant, your main point of contact with regards to administrative audit engagement management tasks which includes setting-up the audit project, administer the audit engagement economics process which includes initiating and monitoring the periodic billings and supporting the audit engagement team in billing queries. You will be responsible to advise and support audit engagement partners and managers on all audit engagement related administrative tasks and ensure audit progress across the engagement lifecycle by setting up the tasks for the audit engagement team in EY’s proprietary audit platform, while driving the engagement controlling process (audit budget planning, analysis, estimates to complete the project reporting). Moreover, you will also drive efficiency via bringing in best practices and automation and will work closely with EY Rapid to ensure centralization of audit engagement management tasks. Plus, you will also be responsible for the quality assurance of the processes data entry, budgeting, reforecasting of the audit engagements and timely billings and will provide ad hoc reporting as required by the business and assist with internal requirements. Furthermore, you will also be involved in investigating and resolving ad hoc audit queries and escalations in a timely manner while participating in regional calls and meetings pertaining to AOA and updating the local practices in MENA in implementing AOA activities and highlight challenges and barriers in the implementation.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• At least4 to 7 years of experience.
• Strong academic record, including a degree and professional qualification such as ACCA, ICMA or CA or progress towards/completion of a recognized accounting qualification
