Job summary

Mashreq Bank PSC is seeking an Assistant Manager-Compliance to support day-to-day AML/KYC operations and ensure adherence to UAE Central Bank regulations. You will assist business units, contribute to compliance initiatives, and participate in staff training and reporting.

The role requires 5-7 years banking experience in KYC/EDD, with strong English and Excel skills, and knowledge of UAE regulations. Arabic is a plus. This position offers on-site work in a banking environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate with banking experience in KYC/EDD (5-7 years).
• Experience handling KYC/EDD reviews for HNI/UHNI and Business Entities clients.
• Computer literacy and strong English communication; Arabic a plus.
• Knowledge of UAE regulations an added advantage.
• Strong presentation and Excel skills.
• Efficient, logical problem solving and good decision-making ability.

• Manageand provide assistance to theCompliance Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Embedded Compliance Function, ensuringcompliance to Bank’s AML/KYC policies/procedures andregulatory requirements.
• Maintain ongoing awareness/knowledge of all regulations set by the Central Bank of the UAE
• Role of the Assistant Manager- Compliance is to assist business areas to achieve their business goal whileadequately addressing compliance related issuesso that the bank is not exposed to regulatory, reputational or other risks. Extend support to business units by providing compliant and workable solutions to regulatory requirements andintervene where necessary to stop a transaction/process/business proposal.
• Support Compliance Manager in implementation of compliance initiatives in RBG – as may be determined / guided by HO- Compliance from time to time

Responsibilities

• Maintain ongoing awareness/current knowledge of all applicable internal/external compliance requirements and existing/emerging legal/statutory/regulatory environment – identifying any issues that could impact the bank.
• Assist the Compliance manager to ensure Bank’s internal procedures/policies remain compliant with regulations/changes providing guidance/advice to business units as necessary.
• Assist in maintaining pro-active relationships with business, facilitating timely involvement to ensure compliant solutions to business issues.
• Assist in AML/Compliance training programs to all business group staff on an on-going basis as required/necessary to raise awareness and ensure all staff understand their responsibly/obligations with regards to Corporate/AML policies and regulatory/legal/statutory requirements.
• Provide support for the enhanceddue diligenceprocess followed on businesses classified as high risk prior to account opening proposals and provide decisions accordingly. Review proposals on high risk relationships especially cases that are escalated to senior management/business group head and ensure that all risks are appropriately highlighted for sign off.
• Review the eName checker referrals from branches/enabling functions/operation andprovide compliance feedbackin accordance with the bank policies/CB regulations.
• Assist in preparation of allreports/MISon issues relating toCompliance/AMLand ensure that same are provided in a timely manner to Compliance Manager.
• Assist in responding in a timely manner to audit/ assurance queries
• Represent compliance in any ad hoc projects as directed by Compliance Manager such as support compliance-related projects or system implementations
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Audit and Business Units/ Governance for compliance related matters
• To develop excellent working relationships with all stakeholders without compromising on independence and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Graduate with 5-7 years of banking experience in the field of KYC/EDD
• Experience in handling KYC/ EDD review of HNI/UHNI clients and Business Entities clients.
• Computer literate and good command over spoken and written English is mandatory. Knowledge of Arabic will be added advantage.
• Knowledge of UAE regulations is an added advantage.
• Good presentation skills and Excel Skills.
