Job summary

Datamatics Technologies LLC is seeking an experienced Architect for Commerce and ESL to design and govern scalable digital commerce and enterprise integration solutions.

You will own architecture across Commerce platforms, APIs, microservices, ESL, and backend systems, ensuring security, scalability, resilience, and performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain architecture diagrams and integration standards.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience as a Solution Architect for digital commerce and enterprise integration.
• Expertise in eCommerce/digital commerce architecture and ESL.
• Strong knowledge of Enterprise Service Layer architecture.
• Hands-on with REST APIs, microservices, and API management.
• Proficient in integration patterns: synchronous, asynchronous, messaging, event-driven.
• Experience integrating commerce platforms with ERP/CRM/OMS/PIM/CMS/payments/inventory.
• Knowledge of API security (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT).
• Understanding of scalability, high availability, resilience, caching and performance.
• Experience defining architecture/integration standards and governance.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management with solution design skills.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end solution architecture for Commerce and ESL platforms.
• Design integration between Commerce platforms and ERP/CRM/OMS/PIM/CMS and payments.
• Define API, microservices and event-driven integration patterns.
• Establish API security, authentication, logging, monitoring, and performance standards.
• Provide technical direction to cross-functional teams across Commerce, ESL, backend and integration projects.
• Ensure architectures meet scalability, availability, security, resilience and performance.
• Review designs for alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and architectural constraints.
• Collaborate with business, product, engineering, security, and infrastructure teams.
• Maintain architecture diagrams, integration specs, API standards, and technical docs.

Architect – Commerce + ESL

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Commerce + Enterprise Service Layer (ESL) Architect to design and govern scalable digital commerce and enterprise integration solutions. The role will own the architecture across Commerce platforms, APIs, microservices, ESL, and enterprise backend systems, ensuring security, scalability, resilience, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the end-to-end solution architecture for Commerce and ESL platforms.
• Design integration between Commerce platforms and systems such as ERP, CRM, OMS, PIM, CMS, payments, inventory, and fulfillment.
• Define API, microservices, event-driven, and messaging integration patterns.
• Establish architecture standards for API security, authentication, error handling, logging, monitoring, and performance.
• Provide technical direction to Commerce, ESL, backend, frontend, and integration development teams.
• Ensure solutions meet scalability, availability, security, resilience, and performance requirements.
• Review solution designs and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and architectural constraints.
• Collaborate with business, product, engineering, security, infrastructure, and enterprise architecture teams.
• Maintain solution architecture diagrams, integration specifications, API standards, and technical documentation.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong experience as a Solution Architect / Technical Architect for digital Commerce and enterprise integration solutions.
• Strong experience with eCommerce / Digital Commerce architecture.
• Strong knowledge of Enterprise Service Layer (ESL) architecture.
• Hands-on architecture experience with REST APIs, microservices, and API management.
• Strong understanding of synchronous, asynchronous, messaging, and event-driven integration patterns.
• Experience integrating Commerce platforms with enterprise and backend systems.
• Strong knowledge of API security, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, authentication, and authorization.
• Strong understanding of scalability, high availability, resilience, caching, and performance.
• Experience defining and governing architecture and integration standards.
• Strong technical leadership, stakeholder management, and solution design skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Adobe Commerce/Magento, SAP Commerce Cloud, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, commercetools, or similar platforms.
• Experience with Apigee, Azure API Management, Kong, MuleSoft, or similar API management/integration platforms.
• Knowledge of Kafka or other event-streaming/messaging technologies.
• Experience with Java/Spring Boot, .NET, or Node.js.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Understanding of Headless Commerce, Composable Commerce, and MACH architecture.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience with observability and application monitoring solutions.
