Job summary

ACT International invites applications for an Anthropometry Assistant covering the Lahore Region and Saiwal Region. This contract-based role supports BNP protocols through anthropometric assessments, counselling, SBCC and beneficiary services in alignment with BNP guidelines.

You will maintain records, ensure data quality, coordinate with staff and facilities, and oversee safeguarding and IPC while aiding timely service delivery to vulnerable populations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related health field.
  • 1–2 years in anthropometric screening or nutrition programmes.
  • Familiarity with BNP/CMAM/TSFP preferred.
  • Urdu fluency; local language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct anthropometric assessments (MUAC, weight, height) per BNP protocol.
  • Maintain programme records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Provide nutrition counselling and SBCC sessions on maternal and child nutrition.
  • Ensure all anthropometric equipment is functional, calibrated and stored properly.
  • Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly data reports with complete data.
  • Assist in beneficiary flow and crowd management for orderly service delivery.
  • Coordinate with Facilitation Centre staff and health facilities for programme delivery.
  • Ensure safeguarding, IPC, safety standards and organisational policies are followed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the coordinator or supervisor.

Job Purpose

Under the supervision of the Facilitation Centre Coordinator, the Anthropometry Assistant will be responsible for conducting high-quality anthropometric assessments, maintaining accurate programme records, providing nutrition counselling and Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC), and supporting beneficiary services in accordance with Benazir Nashonuma Programme (BNP) protocols. The incumbent will ensure quality service delivery, accurate reporting, and compliance with programme and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct accurate anthropometric assessments, including MUAC, weight, height/length, and oedema screening for children and Pregnant and Lactating Women (PLWs) in accordance with BNP protocols and quality standards.
  • Maintain and update TSFP, SAM/MAM, anthropometric registers, referral slips, and other programme records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.
  • Provide nutrition counselling and deliver Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) sessions on maternal, infant and young child nutrition, hygiene practices, health-seeking behaviours, and the appropriate use of Specialized Nutritious Food (SNF).
  • Ensure all anthropometric equipment is functional, calibrated, clean, safely stored, and readily available for service delivery.
  • Support the Facilitation Centre Coordinator in preparing and submitting daily, weekly, monthly, and Monthly Data Review (MDR) reports with complete and accurate data.
  • Assist in managing beneficiary flow and crowd management to ensure organized, efficient, and beneficiary‑friendly service delivery.
  • Support identification, follow‑up, documentation, and referral tracking of defaulters and due cases, particularly Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) beneficiaries.
  • Coordinate effectively with Facilitation Centre staff, health facility personnel, community stakeholders, and beneficiaries to facilitate smooth programme implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with programme guidelines, safeguarding principles, infection prevention and control measures, occupational health and safety standards, and organizational policies.
  • Perform any other programme‑related duties assigned by the Facilitation Centre Coordinator or Supervisor.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, Food Science, Nursing, or another relevant health‑related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in anthropometric screening, nutrition programmes, CMAM, TSFP, maternal and child health, or humanitarian/development programmes.
  • Previous experience with the Benazir Nashonuma Programme (BNP), WFP‑supported programmes, UNICEF, or government health and nutrition initiatives will be an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of anthropometric measurement techniques and nutrition screening.
  • Familiarity with CMAM, TSFP, SAM/MAM case management, and nutrition counselling.
  • Good record‑keeping, reporting, and documentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with beneficiaries and communities.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office applications.
  • Fluency in Urdu; proficiency in the local language of the duty station will be an advantage.
