Job summary

hr-pod-hiring-talent-globally is seeking an experienced Android developer to join our mobile team in Karachi. You will design and implement native Android apps using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, translating UI/UX requirements into responsive experiences.

You'll collaborate with backend, design, QA and DevOps, integrate REST APIs, handle authentication, analytics, and Play Store deployment, and own performance, memory, and startup time optimizations from development through release.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong Kotlin fundamentals and Jetpack Compose.
• Solid understanding of the Android SDK, lifecycle management, and mobile application architecture.
• Experience integrating REST APIs, handling asynchronous operations, and working with authentication.
• Familiarity with Git, debugging, testing, and Play Store deployment.
• Experience with OTT, ExoPlayer/Media3, DRM, deep linking, or subscription flows.
• Knowledge of MVVM, Clean Architecture, and dependency injection.
• CI/CD for Android applications, with exposure to performance monitoring and crash analytics.
• Strong attention to mobile UX and performance, with ownership of features from development through release.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving discipline, with effective collaboration across mobile and platform teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, translating product and UI/UX requirements into responsive mobile experiences.
• Integrate REST APIs, authentication, analytics, notifications, and third-party SDKs.
• Implement media playback and streaming-related functionality where required.
• Optimize application performance, memory usage, battery consumption, and startup time.
• Write unit and UI tests and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with backend, product, design, QA, and DevOps teams.
• Support Play Store release preparation, monitoring, and production issue resolution.
