Job summary

Technology Rivers, LLC is seeking an AI & ML Engineer to design and ship AI-powered features for client projects and internal tools. You will integrate LLMs, build RAG systems, and create scalable ML solutions.

You will fine-tune models, evaluate performance, and deploy them on cloud platforms, using LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face and vector databases to support search-driven applications. Independent work across multiple projects is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python with production AI/ML experience.
• Experience with LLM application development and traditional ML (training, fine-tuning, evaluation).
• Familiarity with vector databases and retrieval-based architectures.
• Working knowledge of cloud AI services (AWS, Azure or GCP) and API-based integration with LLM providers.
• Ability to work independently across multiple projects and clarify requirements early.

Job Details

Join our team as an AI & ML Engineer where you will design and build AI-powered features and systems for both client projects and internal tools. From integrating large language models into applications to building and evaluating custom models, you will help bring practical AI capabilities into production.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and integrate LLM-powered features into client and internal applications, including chatbots, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, and AI agents.
• Develop, fine-tune, and evaluate machine learning models where custom model work is required, including data preparation, training, and performance benchmarking.
• Select and work with appropriate tools and frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face) and cloud AI services based on project needs.
• Familiarity with fine-tuning large language models and deploying them to production using cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Design and maintain vector databases and retrieval pipelines (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector) to support search and RAG-based applications.
• Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) as part of your own workflow, while maintaining full ownership and understanding of any code or model shipped to production.
• Work independently across client and internal projects, proactively surfacing ambiguous requirements, model limitations, or data concerns early rather than proceeding on assumptions.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python, with practical experience building and shipping AI or ML features to production.
• Experience with LLM application development (prompt engineering, RAG, agent frameworks) and traditional ML/model development (training, fine-tuning, evaluation); experience with both is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with vector databases and retrieval-based architectures.
• Working knowledge of cloud AI services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and API-based integration with LLM providers.
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools professionally, with sound judgment about when to trust generated output and when to verify it manually.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently across multiple concurrent projects, asking clarifying questions early when scope or requirements are unclear.
