Job summary

The Plumtree Group is seeking an AI Engineering Lead for CoPilot Innovations, a client-facing leadership role overseeing an engineering team. You will build production-ready AI systems, coach engineers, review architectures, and set high engineering standards across client accounts.

You will mentor teams, translate AI concepts for business and technical audiences, and drive end-to-end AI solutions including ML and generative/agent-based approaches.

Job Description:

CoPilot Innovations, a subsidiary of The Plumtree Group, is looking for an AI Engineering Lead to act as the technical authority across our engineering team.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can build production-ready AI systems while coaching engineers, reviewing architectures, and setting strong engineering standards internally as well as across client accounts. This is a client-facing leadership role suited to someone who enjoys building teams, shaping solutions, and staying close to emerging Al capabilities.

What You’ll Do:

• Leading and developing a high-performing Al engineering team while setting engineering standards across multiple client engagements
• Translating complex Al concepts into clear, practical direction for business and technical audiences
• Architecting and delivering production-grade end-to-end Al solutions (ML + newer generative/agent-based approaches)
• Acting as a trusted advisor in shaping Al roadmaps, solution design, and delivery approaches
• Define best practices for AI-first software development, cloud deployment, and engineering quality

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong hands-on experience with Python, LLM applications, RAG, agentic workflows, and AI microservices
• Experience with tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases, PyTorch/TensorFlow, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Understanding of MLOps/LLMOps, CI/CD, AI observability, latency, cost, and performance optimization
• Proven experience mentoring or leading engineering teams
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain AI trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
