Job summary

GRJ Agriculture and Livestock in Karachi, Pakistan (on-site) is seeking an Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with Pakistani regulations. The role reports to senior management within a small finance team and collaborates with procurement, sales and operations to support export activities and domestic production accounting.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or equivalent.
• 2+ years practical accounting experience in corporate or agricultural business.
• Practical knowledge of Pakistani taxation, statutory requirements and EPF/ETF calculations.
• Experience with general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations and month-end close.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Tally or similar) and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
• Experience preparing financial statements, bank reconciliations and management reports.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger, prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts monthly
• Process accounts payable and receivable; ensure timely vendor and customer settlements
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
• Manage payroll processing, statutory deductions (EPF/ETF) and related filings
• Assist with budgeting, cash flow forecasting and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with taxation, sales tax and other statutory requirements; prepare returns and coordinate with tax advisors and auditors
• Support export documentation and financial coordination for export activities
