Job Summary
Trust on camera is built on getting the details right, and a detail-obsessed YouTube Video Editor will protect every one of them. You will turn raw footage into polished long-form videos and short social cuts, working within a structured, compliance-minded process where the script is preserved exactly as written and every on-screen disclosure stays intact. A meticulous editor who follows a brand kit precisely and takes pride in clean, reliable delivery is the ideal fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit two long-form YouTube videos each week, turning raw footage into clean, finished episodes
- Trim out pauses, false starts, and restarts, and join the best takes together seamlessly
- Keep the script word for word, with no cuts, trims, or paraphrasing of the spoken content
- Keep every on-screen disclosure and legal footer fully visible and untrimmed
- Place b-roll at transitions only, so the focus stays on the speaker
- Hand-correct every caption for accuracy instead of relying on auto-generated text
- Cut shorter versions of each video for social media channels
- Apply the brand kit exactly, including typography, colors, and graphic style
- Deliver finished work to a staging folder, then upload to YouTube with Editor-level access only after written sign-off
- Review the existing YouTube channel and share improvement suggestions before the client interview
Mandatory Skills
- Proven experience editing long-form YouTube videos from raw footage
- Strong proficiency in professional video editing software such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro
- Experience with color grading
- Skilled at cleaning up talking-head footage, including removing pauses and restarts without changing the script
- Experience hand-correcting captions and subtitles
- Exceptional attention to detail and comfort working within a strict compliance and approval process
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Ability to follow a brand kit exactly
- Unfailing on follow-through, sharp on detail, and self-sufficient without supervision
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Thumbnail design experience in Canva, Photoshop, or similar tools
- Experience editing professional services, educational, or compliance-sensitive content
- Experience repurposing long-form videos into short-form clips for social platforms
- Familiarity with YouTube Studio, including role-based access and upload workflows
- Experience working from detailed style guides and brand kits
- Ability to offer constructive suggestions to improve a channel's content and presentation
