Job summary

Envision Energy in the Philippines seeks an On-Site Construction Electrical Engineer/Technician to supervise electrical installation and commissioning of wind turbines for utility-scale projects. You will act as the on-site electrical point of contact, coordinating with engineers, EPC contractors, grid operators, and clients while ensuring HSE compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least five years of experience in wind turbine electrical installations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in electrical installation and commissioning, preferably in wind turbines or renewable energy.
• Experience with wind turbine electrical systems (LV/MV/HV), protection, grid integration, and SCADA/control systems.
• Ability to manage installation teams and coordinate with cross-functional teams on site.
• Proficiency with electrical testing tools and documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate electrical installation activities on-site as the on-site electrical point of contact.
• Ensure quality control, proper photos, and records after each activity, and enforce correct methods.
• Oversee installation of power cables, switchgear, transformers, control panels and grounding systems.
• Review electrical drawings and supplier specifications; monitor progress and report to plan.
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including loop checks and insulation tests.
• Identify electrical issues, propose corrective actions, and manage punch lists
• Coordinate with engineering, commissioning, quality, HSE, EPC contractors, grid operators, and clients.
• Support handover of fully commissioned wind turbines with documentation and test reports.
• Learn from installation processes and guide Operations and Maintenance.
• Adhere to HSE policies and use PPE at all times.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated On-Site Construction Electrical Engineer/Technician to join our wind turbine supplier team for utility-scale wind power projects. This position is responsible for supervising and supporting the electrical installation and commissioning of wind turbines on behalf of the supplier, ensuring compliance with both internal standards and client requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise and coordinate electrical installation activities on-site, act as the on-site electrical point of contact, for all electrical installation and commissioning activities of Wind Turbines supplied by the company.
• Perform strict control to Quality regarding electrical installation, make sure all Work Instructions are performed by installation contractor, with proper photos, records are delivered right after each activity, and correct method are followed during installation.
• Supervise installation contractors and ensure proper installation of electrical components including power cables, switchgear, transformers, control panels, and grounding systems.
• Review and interpret electrical drawings, interface documents, single-line diagrams, and supplier specifications.
• Monitor and report on electrical work progress to plan for proper resource.
• Document and report quality non-conformities and ensure proper closure through corrective measures.
• Involve and support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities including loop checks, insulation resistance tests, functional testing, and support balance-of -plant with energization.
• Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues during installation and commissioning, proposing corrective actions where needed.
• Involve in final Walk Down and manage to clear electrical punch list.
• Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, commissioning, quality, and HSE), EPC contractors, grid operators, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
• Support handover of fully commissioned wind turbines to the client, including documentation and test reports.
• Learn and understand from all installation process and be able to guide Operation and Maintenance.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCES

• Bachelor＇s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical installation and commissioning, preferably in the wind turbine or renewable energy sector.
• Quick learning, with hands-on experience of Wind Turbine knowledge is preferred. Prior experience working with or for a wind turbine OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of wind turbine electrical systems (LV/MV/HV), protection systems, grid integration, and SCADA/control systems.
• Proven ability to manage installation team and coordinate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, site-based environment.
• Competency with electrical testing tools and documentation standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with CAD/electrical drawing software.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Based on-site at wind farm construction locations; frequent work at heights and around heavy equipment. Routine interaction with team mainly from China and local. May involve rotational shifts and extended hours during key project phases.
• Must adhere to strict HSE practices and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• For construction project is 6 working days per week.
