About the Role: The WFM Manager is responsible for optimizing workforce scheduling and staffing levels to meet operational needs while maintaining cost-effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate staffing forecasts based on historical data, sales projections, and other relevant factors. Analyze trends and adjust forecasts as needed.
- Scheduling: Create and manage daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for all assigned staff, ensuring adequate coverage and optimal resource allocation. Utilize WFM software to optimize schedules.
- Labor Cost Management: Monitor and control labor costs by analyzing variances, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing cost-saving strategies.
- Performance Analysis: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to staffing, service levels, and employee productivity. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with supervisors, team leads, and employees regarding scheduling changes and performance expectations. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., sales, marketing) to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve scheduling conflicts and operational issues. Develop and implement solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Training and Development: Provide training and support to staff on WFM software and scheduling best practices.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant labor laws and company policies.
- System Maintenance: Maintain and update WFM software and related systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes and optimize workforce utilization.
- Budget Management: Contribute to the development and management of the department's budget.
Qualifications:
- At least a two-year college undergraduate degree
- 5+ years of experience in a WFM role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience in using WFM software (e.g., Workforce Management, Kronos, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of labor laws and regulations.
- Experience with forecasting and scheduling methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience in a customer-facing environment.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
