Role Name: Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist
Monthly Rate: Php 120,000+
Number of Paid Hours Per Week: 40 hours
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST (New York time)
Equivalent to 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM (Philippines time)
Equivalent to 6:30 PM – 3:30 AM (India time)
Client Timezone: Eastern Standard Time (New York, USA)
Work Arrangement: Work from home
Contract: Independent Contractor
Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and project managers to understand functional and technical requirements
Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for insurance software systems
Perform functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across web and backend systems
Validate system workflows related to insurance operations (e.g., policy administration, claims processing, underwriting, billing)
Ensure compliance with QA standards and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Assist in the creation of test data and environments simulating insurance scenarios
Provide QA support during production deployments and post-release validation
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
3+ years of QA experience in software implementation projects
Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes
Prior experience working on projects in the insurance industry (property & casualty, life, health, etc.)
Experience with testing tools like JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM, or similar
Knowledge of relational databases and ability to write basic SQL queries for data validation
Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI) is a plus
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
