Job summary

Based on Scientia seeks a skilled welder to lay out, fit and fabricate metal components, assembling structural forms in line with welding techniques and engineering requirements.

The role requires reading blueprints and performing tack-welds, with focus on safety and equipment maintenance for reliable production output in a factory setting.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required; NCII/SMAW/GMAW preferred.
• Experience in copper, black iron, galvanized iron and other metal works.
• Must perform welding and related manual labor safely.

Responsibilities

• Tack-weld or weld components per procedures and blueprints.
• Perform maintenance and repair on welding equipment.
• Ensure safe operation of tools and PPE.
• Assist with other duties as required.

Job description

Responsible for the accomplishment of daily tasks set by Leadman by laying out, fitting and fabricating metal components to assemble structural forms using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible to tack-weld or weld components and assemblies, using different methods as specified by procedures, layouts, blueprints,diagrams, work orders, or oral instructions.
• Performs all necessary maintenance and repair on all equipment used in welding.
• Ensures safe and effective operation and maintenance of assigned tools, plant and equipment associated with the job using required Personal Protective Equipment.
• Performs or assists in other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least high school graduate, preferably with NCII, SMAW, and/or GMAW certification
• Must have experience in copper, black iron, galvanized iron and other metal works
• Must be able to perform welding works and associated with physical/manual labor tasks in a safe manner
• Must be able to operate, maintain and work safely with hand tools, small plant and equipment
