WAREHOUSE STAFF
Job Summary
The Warehouse Staff is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and monitoring construction materials, tools, and equipment. The role ensures proper inventory control, accurate documentation, and efficient warehouse operations to support project requirements on time and within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Receiving and Inspection
- Receive deliveries of construction materials, tools, and equipment from suppliers.
- Check and verify items against delivery receipts, purchase orders, and specifications.
- Coordinate with Procurement and QA/QC for any delivery issues or non-compliance.
2. Storage and Inventory Management
- Organize and store materials properly based on type, usage, and safety requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse at all times.
- Monitor stock levels and implement proper inventory control (FIFO where applicable).
- Conduct regular inventory counts (daily/weekly/monthly).
- Record all incoming and outgoing materials accurately.
3. Issuance and Monitoring
- Issue materials, tools, and equipment based on approved requests.
- Ensure proper documentation of all issued items (Material Issuance Slip, etc.).
- Monitor usage and movement of materials to prevent loss, damage, or misuse.
- Coordinate with site engineers and supervisors regarding material requirements.
4. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain updated inventory records and warehouse logs.
- Prepare inventory reports and stock status updates.
- Report discrepancies, shortages, or overstock to the Warehouse Supervisor or Project Team.
- Ensure proper filing of delivery receipts, issuance records, and other documents.
5. Safety and Compliance
- Follow safety procedures in handling, storing, and transporting materials.
- Ensure proper stacking and safe storage of construction materials.
- Comply with company policies and warehouse management procedures.
- Assist in maintaining security of warehouse items and facilities.
Qualifications
1. Education
- At least Senior High School Graduate
- Vocational or College Level (any course) is an advantage
2. Experience
- Minimum of 1–3 years experience in warehouse operations within the Construction Industry
- Experience in handling construction materials, tools, and equipment is required
3. Technical Competencies (Know-how)
- Knowledge of inventory management and stock control
- Familiarity with construction materials and warehouse procedures
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word)
- Ability to use inventory logs and basic monitoring tools
- Understanding of warehouse documentation and reporting
4. Skills and Abilities
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Physically fit and capable of handling materials
- Honest and trustworthy
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
- Team player with strong sense of responsibility
