Job Description
- Carefully examine tires for punctures, cuts, sidewall damage, and wear, determining if they can be repaired or need replacement. This includes using tools to check tire pressure and tread depth.
- Perform tire repairs and replacements: Patch punctures, repair cuts, and replace worn or damaged tires using appropriate tools and equipment, following established procedures and safety guidelines. This may involve mounting and balancing new tires.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment: Keep the work area clean and free of hazards, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained. Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Vulcanizing can be physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift and maneuver heavy tires, operate machinery, and stand for extended periods.
- Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity: A basic understanding of tools and machinery is essential, along with the ability to use hand tools effectively and perform precise repairs.
- Attention to detail and safety consciousness: Accurate assessment of tire damage and proper repair techniques are crucial for safety. A strong focus on following safety procedures is a must.
