Overview
A Van Driver operates a van to transport goods, materials, or people to and from specified locations. The role requires driving safely, maintaining the vehicle, and ensuring timely deliveries or pickups.
Responsibilities
- Drive a van to deliver or pick up goods, materials, or passengers to and from designated locations.
- Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries and minimize fuel consumption.
- Load and unload goods or assist passengers as needed, ensuring items are secured and safe during transit.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance, including checking fuel levels, tire pressure, oil, and cleaning. Report any mechanical issues to the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Driver's License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; a commercial driver’s license (CDL) may be required in some cases.
- Experience: Prior experience as a driver or in a similar role is typically preferred.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry heavy items if necessary.
- Customer Service: Good communication and customer service skills for interacting with clients and customers.
