Overview
A driver is responsible for safely transporting goods, passengers, or materials from one location to another, adhering to traffic laws and company policies. This role requires excellent time management, a good driving record, and a focus on customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate assigned vehicles (e.g., cars, vans, trucks, or buses).
- Follow scheduled routes and timeframes to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and report maintenance issues.
- Load and unload goods or assist passengers when needed.
- Maintain accurate logs of travel times, routes, mileage, and delivery or passenger details.
- Adhere to traffic rules, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of the vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and customers regarding schedules or delays.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle being operated.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Proven experience as a driver in a professional capacity (preferred).
- Knowledge of road safety and regulations.
- Ability to use GPS navigation systems and follow written or verbal directions.
