Job Description
Utility driver is responsible for safely transporting materials, products, or passengers, while also assisting with loading/unloading, vehicle maintenance, and miscellaneous operational tasks. They maintain delivery logs, adhere to traffic laws, and often support warehouse or project site teams, requiring a valid license and physical stamina.
Responsibilities
- Driving and Transport: Operating company car, L300 or vehicles to deliver products to clients or move equipment between sites.
- Loading/Unloading: Handling cargo, ensuring items are safely loaded and secured, and verifying shipments against shipping papers.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting mechanical issues, and performing basic maintenance to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate.
- Operational Support: Assisting with warehouse activities, such as organizing, cleaning, and sometimes helping with ground maintenance or other labor tasks as requested.
Qualifications and Requirements
- License: Valid driver’s license (often requiring a clean driving record or specific commercial license).
- Experience: Previous experience in driving, delivery, or general labor is preferred.
- Physical Ability: Capability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy objects (frequently up to 50 lbs), including standing and bending for long periods.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance, familiarity with navigation tools, and good communication skills.
- Safety Focus: Strict adherence to traffic laws and safety procedures.
