Job summary

Aline Accounting Partners in the Philippines is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our growing team. This client-facing role emphasizes reviewing, finalizing, and delivering accurate financials for external clients while guiding the accounting team.

The ideal candidate will bring strong US GAAP knowledge, full-cycle accounting capabilities, and proven ability to manage multiple engagements remotely with a focus on timely, high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong accounting experience supporting US-based clients, preferably in a CPA, outsourced accounting, or professional services firm.
• At least 3 years in Accounting Manager, Assistant Manager, Team Lead, or similar early management role.
• Experience reviewing accountants' work and guiding team members.
• Strong client-facing experience with the ability to lead client discussions and manage expectations.
• Experience managing multiple client accounts, including complex engagements.
• Knowledge of ASC 606 and ASC 842 preferred.
• GovCon accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and finalize financial statements and deliverables for external clients.
• Apply US GAAP to ensure accuracy, completeness, and tax-readiness.
• Review GL activity, journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes for client deliverables.
• Lead client meetings via video calls to discuss financial results and questions.
• Manage multiple client engagements with deadlines and quality standards.
• Review work of accountants and provide guidance on accounting matters.
• Research and resolve accounting issues and determine suitable treatments.
• Escalate complex issues to senior leadership when needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
• Support development of accounting team members through coaching.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our growing team. This is a client-facing role focused on reviewing, finalizing, and delivering accurate financials for external clients while providing guidance and support to accounting team members.

The ideal candidate has strong US GAAP and full-cycle accounting knowledge, experience managing multiple client engagements, and the confidence to work directly with clients to discuss financial results, resolve accounting issues, and ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time.

We're looking for someone who has started building their management experience and is ready to continue growing as a leader. You should be resourceful, proactive, and solutions-oriented, with the ability to investigate issues, find answers, and determine the appropriate next steps.

What You'll Do

• Review and finalize financial statements and accounting deliverables for multiple external clients.
• Apply knowledge of US GAAP to ensure financials are accurate, complete, compliant, and tax-ready.
• Review general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and other full-cycle accounting activities.
• Manage and oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring client deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Serve as a key point of contact for assigned clients, regularly participating in and leading client meetings via video calls, explaining financial results, resolving discrepancies, and addressing accounting-related questions.
• Manage multiple client engagements, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining consistent quality and service standards.
• Review the work of accountants and provide guidance on accounting matters, client deliverables, and day-to-day challenges.
• Research and investigate accounting issues and determine appropriate solutions or accounting treatment.
• Escalate complex technical accounting or client matters to senior leadership when appropriate.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, workflows, documentation, and quality controls.
• Support the development of accounting team members through feedback, coaching, and hands-on guidance.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong accounting experience supporting US-based clients, preferably within an accounting, CPA, outsourced accounting, or professional services firm.
• At least 3 years of experience in an Accounting Manager, Assistant Manager, Team Lead, or similar early management role within an accounting environment.
• Experience reviewing the work of accountants and providing guidance, feedback, or day-to-day support to team members.
• Strong client-facing experience with the confidence to participate in and lead client discussions, explain financial information, investigate issues, and manage expectations.
• Experience managing multiple client accounts, preferably including complex or larger client engagements.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and full-cycle accounting.
• Exposure to technical accounting matters; familiarity with topics such as ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Lease Accounting) is preferred.
• Government Contracting (GovCon) accounting experience is a plus.
• Experience with ERP and accounting systems; familiarity with QuickBooks and platforms such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research, investigate, and resolve accounting issues independently.
• A resourceful and proactive mindset, with the ability to take initiative and determine the next best step.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment.
