The US Accountant will provide accounting and financial support for United States-based businesses. This position will manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, prepare financial reports, reconcile accounts, process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, and support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of US accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately with financial data. This position is ideal for an accountant with experience supporting US clients, accounting firms, bookkeeping services, or small and mid-sized businesses.
Prepare and maintain financial records in compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements and management reports.
Analyze financial data and investigate account variances.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
Support external audits, financial reviews, and client inquiries.
Research and apply relevant US GAAP guidance to accounting transactions.
Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to resolve accounting issues.
Assist with process improvement, documentation, and internal control initiatives.
Support special accounting projects and ad hoc financial reporting requirements.
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Accounting experience, preferably with exposure to US GAAP.
Strong understanding of financial reporting principles and accounting standards.
Experience with account reconciliations and general ledger management.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Effective written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred
CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification.
Public accounting or accounting firm experience.
Experience supporting U.S.-based clients.
Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls.
Experience with ERP and accounting platforms such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems.
Experience working remotely with international teams.
