About the role
We're looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead the electrical and electronics engineering of multiple EV charging products end to end — from initial concept through production release. You'll take technical ownership of schematic design, component selection, design analysis, and certification readiness, while mentoring junior engineers and partnering closely with the core product team to hit milestones on time and at a high bar of quality.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the electrical and electronics engineering of multiple products from concept through production release.
- Supervise junior engineers to ensure the electrical and electronic aspects of each product are functional, high-quality, and reliable.
- Lead or supervise the creation of schematic diagrams, wiring/harness design and guides, component selection, and bills of materials (BOM).
- Supervise or personally perform design analyses, including worst-case analysis (WCA), design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA), thermal analysis, reliability prediction analysis (RPA) / mean time between failure (MTBF), and flammability and spacing analysis.
- Ensure products comply with EMI standards, UL safety standards, conductive charging standards, and other requirements applicable to EV charging equipment.
- Supervise prototyping, power-up, and troubleshooting; supervise or personally perform detailed design verification and validation.
- Create and formulate design verification test (DVT) plans across multiple projects, ensuring products are fully tested and certified before release to production.
- Run simulations to support product development and shorten turnaround time.
- Guide, mentor, and train junior engineers in design, documentation, and test verification/validation, and review their work.
- Collaborate with engineers and core team members to hit milestones and mitigate issues and delays.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering (or a closely related engineering discipline).
- 10+ years of experience in electrical and electronics design engineering.
- Strong grounding in fundamental theory: Ohm's law, KVL/KCL, the voltage divider theorem, BJT and MOSFET biasing, inductor/capacitor charging behavior, transformer theory, and related principles.
- Deep working knowledge of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components — EMI filters, breakers, GFCI/RCD, contactors, power supplies and modules, fuses, relays, PCBs, and related accessories.
- Strong command of circuit principles and analysis: series/parallel connections, current, voltage, resistance, power and energy calculations, RC/RL time constants, and relay/contactor biasing.
- Skilled at reading schematics, with hands‑on expertise in prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Proficient with measurement and test equipment: oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, voltmeters, ammeters, voltage sources, and electronic loads.
- Experienced running simulations — circuit, system, and thermal.
- High analytical and technical rigor, with strong report‑writing and documentation skills.
- Comfortable mentoring junior engineers and demonstrating hands‑on technical expertise.
Benefits
- Competitive salary, commensurate with experience
- Health insurance / HMO coverage
- Leave credits and other statutory benefits
- Room to lead real products end to end, with a direct hand in what ships
