Qualifications

• 10+ years of life insurance underwriting experience.
• 5+ years of underwriting leadership or people management experience.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting practices and industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite life insurance cases, dedicating substantial time to case assessment and decision-making.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing underwriting team.
• Partner with leadership to recruit, onboard, and retain underwriting talent across locations.
• Assess team quality, capacity, and hiring requirements to support growth.
• Design onboarding programmes and technical underwriting training.
• Implement performance management and quality control processes for continuous improvement.
• Mentor underwriters to strengthen technical expertise and decision-making.

• Underwrite life insurance cases, dedicating approximately 50% of time to case assessment and decision-making.

• Experience with US life insurance underwriting.
• Professional underwriting credentials such as LOMA, ALU, or similar certifications.
• Experience working with underwriting technology, automation, or underwriting engines.
