Job summary

Outsourced Quality Assured Services Inc. (ISO Certified) seeks an experienced Accountant to own the UK month-end close, group consolidation, and statutory packs, while line-managing the Junior Accountant (AP/AR).

You will coordinate intercompany eliminations across UK, US, and Malaysia, support tax packs and audits, and ensure reconciliations and controls are robust. Office-based in Metro Manila with GMT working hours.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with UK GAAP/FRS 102 experience.
• Strong month-end close, consolidation and reconciliation skills across a multi-entity group.
• Experience preparing VAT (MTD) and corporation tax packs and liaising with external auditors.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Run UK month-end timetable and coordinate Malaysia's submissions for consolidation.
• Prepare UK month-end journals and intercompany eliminations for group reporting.
• Review sub-ledger reconciliations and maintain a clean control environment.
• Prepare draft statutory accounts and support UK auditors during year-end audit.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns and corporation tax computation packs.

Role purpose

Own the offshore delivery of the UK month-end close, group consolidation, management accounts, and preparation of statutory, VAT and tax packs for UK review and sign-off and line-manage the Junior Accountant (AP/AR).

Month-end close & management accounts

• Run the UK month-end timetable to the agreed group deadline, and coordinate the timely receipt of Malaysia's submitted results for consolidation.
• Prepare UK month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, provisions and correction journals.
• Produce monthly management accounts and departmental reporting for the UK business and the global sales operation.
• Prepare intercompany transactions and elimination entries across the group's Syspro companies (UK, US, Malaysia and the UK/MY and US elimination companies), and reconcile intercompany balances and turnover.

Consolidation & group reporting

• Produce the group consolidation via F9 across the UK, US and Malaysian entities and the elimination companies, and issue the consolidated F9 group report by the agreed monthly deadline.
• Prepare the summary management reporting pack for the Group Financial Controller.

Reconciliations & control

• Review the UK sub-ledger and balance-sheet reconciliations (AP, AR, bank, GRN) prepared by the Junior Accountant, and ensure reconciling items are investigated and cleared.
• Maintain reconciliation discipline and a clean control trail, and elevate control gaps and unusual items to the Group Financial Controller.

Statutory accounts & audit

• Prepare draft FRS 102 statutory accounts, supporting notes and year-end audit files for the UK PLC, and support the consolidated statutory accounts at UK group level.
• Respond to auditor queries and support the restatement of historical balances; final approval and signature of the accounts, and the UK-registered auditor relationship, remain in the UK.

Tax & VAT

• Prepare quarterly MTD VAT returns and EC / intra-stat data for UK review and approval.
• Prepare corporation tax computation packs for the UK tax advisors, and maintain transfer-pricing documentation for intercompany transactions.

Team & knowledge

• Line-manage and review the work of the Junior Accountant (AP/AR), and maintain cover within the offshore team.
• Keep process documentation current for the areas the pod owns.

Requirements

Essential

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or recognized local equivalent) with UK GAAP / FRS 102 statutory accounts experience.
• Strong month-end close, consolidation and reconciliation experience across a multi-entity group.
• Experience preparing VAT (MTD) and corporation tax computation packs, and working with external auditors.
• Confident with Excel and working within an ERP / accounting system.

Desirable

• Syspro experience (or other ERP experience and a willingness to learn this implementation).
• Multi-currency, intercompany and manufacturing-environment experience.
• F9 reporting and line-management experience.

Work Location

• Office based work set up
• Monday to Friday, 9am to 6PM GMT
• Should have strong internet connection (minimum of 20 mbps)
• Should have own Laptop/PC (minimum of i5 8GB RAM)
