Precision Path Technologies, Inc. (PPTI) is looking for a UAV Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, testing, and optimization of advanced UAV systems.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working with both hardware and software—from flight controllers, sensors, and embedded systems to programming, software development, system integration, and field testing.
Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering field
Proven experience in software development or software building is REQUIRED
Strong programming skills are REQUIRED, particularly in:
C/C++
Python
Other programming languages are an advantage
Hands-on experience developing, testing, debugging, or maintaining software applications, embedded systems, or automation solutions
Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers such as STM32, ESP32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar platforms
Hands-on experience in circuit troubleshooting, testing, repair, and preventive maintenance
Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation
Experience in UAVs, robotics, autonomous systems, embedded systems, or related engineering projects is highly preferred
Knowledge of software-hardware integration, APIs, communication protocols, or system interfaces is an advantage
Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent is an advantage
Knowledge of PCB design and schematic tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, or similar is an advantage
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
Willingness to travel locally for field testing, demonstrations, and operational support
The successful candidate should be comfortable building and working with software, not just using existing applications.
You should be able to:
Develop and modify software or scripts for UAV and engineering applications
Write, test, debug, and maintain C/C++ and Python code
Work with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and hardware interfaces
Troubleshoot software and hardware integration issues
Analyze system and flight data
Develop tools or software that improve UAV operation, testing, automation, or data processing
Collaborate with hardware and engineering teams to integrate software into UAV systems
Strong programming ability and actual software development experience are essential for this position.
Assist in the integration and configuration of UAV systems, including flight controllers, sensors, GNSS modules, telemetry systems, and remote controllers
Configure, calibrate, tune, and optimize flight control systems
Develop, test, and troubleshoot UAV-related software and embedded applications
Conduct system testing, data collection, and post-flight analysis
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system integration issues
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system profiles, manuals, and test reports
Participate in UAV field tests, demonstrations, and project activities
Support UAV deployment and regulatory inspections
Apply UAV safety standards, aviation regulations, and industry best practices
Work closely with hardware, software, geospatial, and operations teams
Contribute to the continuous improvement of UAV systems and engineering solutions
Work with advanced UAV technology
Build real-world software and embedded systems
Combine hardware, programming, and engineering
