A detail-oriented and organized Trust Accountant is needed to manage and support trust fund reporting and benefit-related accounting tasks. This role includes responsibility for complex trust fund transactions, premium remittances, reporting, employee benefit inquiries, and support functions within payroll and benefits systems.
Manage and report on complex division-level trust accounts, including payments and remittances.
Provide guidance to divisions on trust-related matters and ensure compliance with trust policies.
Validate data for Total Compensation Statements and support trust fund audit processes.
Act as team lead for clerk-level functions and assist with cross-training.
Handle document filing, mail distribution, and retrieval of important records.
Track benefit issues manually and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
Ensure accurate and timely remittance of premium deductions to carriers and trust funds.
Investigate and resolve Health & Welfare deduction discrepancies.
Maintain a solid understanding of the PeopleSoft Payroll System.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding trust benefits and point them to the correct fund contacts.
Calculate and process retroactive pay rate adjustments as needed.
Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office; advanced PC skills required.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
Proven leadership abilities; ability to lead by example.
Self-directed with sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.
