Job summary

Hammerjack Pty. Ltd. Philippine Branch Office is seeking a detail-oriented Trust Accountant to manage day-to-day trust accounting for an Australian client, ensuring accurate, compliant and timely financial records.

You’ll handle trust transactions, reconciliations, reporting, audit documentation, and queries while strengthening controls to protect client funds. Hybrid work options across Makati and Pampanga support Australian client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• Experience in trust accounting, property accounting, real estate accounting, legal accounting, or similar.
• Experience supporting an Australian business or client is highly desirable.
• Strong bank and ledger reconciliations experience with discrepancy investigation.
• Understanding of Australian trust accounting principles and compliance.
• Experience with accounting/trust software; exposure to Xero, MYOB, Console Cloud, LEAP, or Smokeball is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office apps.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organisation, and time management.
• High integrity and discretion with client funds and confidential data.
• Strong written and verbal English communication; clear stakeholder responses.
• Ability to work independently and with an Australian-based team, meeting deadlines in a compliance-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the Trust Transactions: process receipts, payments, transfers, adjustments, and disbursements accurately.
• Maintain daily and monthly trust reconciliations; investigate discrepancies.
• Protect client funds by monitoring balances and escalating issues.
• Stay audit-ready with complete documentation and audit trails per Australian regulations.
• Support trust account audits and compliance reviews with reports and records.
• Assist with month-end and year-end trust processes; ensure finalised balances and reports.
• Prepare regular trust account reports and financial summaries for stakeholders.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies with internal teams, clients, and auditors.
• Support internal controls and process improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist wider Finance Team with reconciliations, AP/AR, and financial reporting.
