Job summary

Amex GBT is seeking a Travel Counselor to join our highly skilled remote team, delivering superior service to corporate clients while working within our After Hours team in a shared customer environment.

You will coordinate travel for individuals and groups, use Amadeus for bookings, and ensure adherence to travel policies while proactively addressing traveler needs and opportunities for additional services.

Qualifications

• Native or full working proficiency in German (written and verbal) is a must.
• Two years minimum experience with Amadeus GDS.
• Passion for excellence in client service and proactive traveler support.

Responsibilities

• Advise and arrange travel for corporate business customers (individuals and groups).
• Research travel options and anticipate traveler needs to upsell services.
• Book domestic and international travel across air, rail, and accommodations.
• Ensure compliance with travel policy and regulatory requirements.
• Provide exceptional telephone service and handle special requests.
• Mentor and provide feedback within the team.

What You’ll Do On a Typical Day

• Advise and arrange travel for corporate business customers (both individuals and groups)
• Conduct analysis and research on travel options, and pro-actively anticipate traveler needs to sell additional services
• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel, in a variety of complexity, for air, road, rail, and accommodations
• Use of Amadeus Global Distribution System - Refreshment training may be provided
• Ensure compliance to customers’ agreed travel policy, service provider policies, and regulatory requirements
• Use positive telephone service techniques and act on special customer requests
• Collaborate within your team to coach, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to improve service levels

What We’re Looking For

• Passion for excellence in client service, including proactive anticipation of needs
• Native GDS expertise (Amadeus) >> two years minimum experience
• Native or full working proficiency in German (written and verbal) is a must. ENGLISH and any additional European language could be considered a plus
• Attention to detail
• Act with integrity, and look after personal traveler information
• Possess a strong understanding of the travel industry (background in business travel, leisure travel, or airline reservation)
• Resolving customer issues quickly and independently / with supplier
• Teamwork and openness to feedback

Our Traveler Care team is a 24/7 operation. We have additional shift allowances for Overnight Shift Schedule
