Job summary

AFRY is seeking an experienced Transmission Line Design Engineer to join our power engineering team in Manila. The role focuses on overhead transmission line design with PLS-CADD expertise for utility and renewable energy projects across international markets.

You will perform routing, sag-tension analysis, profile development, and prepare construction drawings while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams in a dynamic, international environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• 5–15 years of experience in overhead transmission line engineering.
• Experience with 69 kV to 500 kV voltages.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to work independently and in international project teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform line routing, profile development, and drawing preparation.
• Conduct sag-tension calculations and optimize clearances.
• Analyze line geometry considering terrain and regulatory requirements.
• Generate staking reports, materials, and design documentation.
• Coordinate with tower, foundation, survey, and geotechnical teams.
• Review layouts for constructability and standards compliance.
• Support design reviews, QA, and documentation.
• Assist in resolving technical issues during detailed engineering and construction.
• Participate in client meetings and interdisciplinary coordination.

• Generate construction staking reports, material quantities, and design documentation.
• Coordinate with tower, foundation, survey, and geotechnical engineering teams.
• Review transmission line layouts for constructability and compliance with applicable standards.
• Support design reviews, quality assurance, and engineering documentation.
• Assist in resolving technical issues during detailed engineering and construction.
• Participate in client meetings and interdisciplinary project coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5-15 years of experiencein overhead transmission line engineering.
• Experience with projects ranging from69 kV to 500 kV(or applicable voltage levels).
• Strong understanding of transmission line engineering principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in international project teams.
