TierTwelve Team for special education services is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to help build backend systems and AI-enabled applications using Java and Python. You will own features or components and collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.

The role focuses on translating requirements into practical plans, delivering production-ready software, and applying best practices in security, performance, and reliability as you contribute to AI-driven initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience as Software Engineer, Backend Developer, or AI/ML-focused Engineer.
• Experience with Python for backend or AI-related development.
• Solid Java experience for backend or enterprise apps.
• Understanding of backend concepts such as service integration, error handling, and security basics.
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases; NoSQL a plus.
• Foundational to practical understanding of AI, machine learning, LLMs, and prompt engineering concepts.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while knowing when to seek guidance.
