Role Purpose

The Network Engineer is responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting network infrastructure to ensure high service availability and customer satisfaction. This role involves hands-on work with technologies such as Cisco, F5, Palo Alto, and SD-WAN, and supports both BAU and project-based activities. The engineer collaborates with internal teams and customers to resolve network issues, implement changes, and contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Network Operations & Troubleshooting
    • Monitor and manage network incidents, service requests, and changes.
    • Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to minimize recurring issues.
    • Support resolution of high-priority incidents and participate in on-call support roster.
  • Project Coordination
    • Collaborate with project managers for planning, delivery, and reporting of network-related activities.
    • Support customer transitions and ensure timely delivery of network services.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Configure and maintain network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
    • Apply knowledge of routing, switching, VPN, SDN, and wireless technologies.
    • Automate network functions using scripting where applicable.
  • System Use & Compliance
    • Utilize monitoring and helpdesk tools (e.g., Spectrum, OpsRamp, ServiceNow).
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies, ITIL standards, and customer SLAs.
    • Maintain accurate documentation including network diagrams and support manuals.
    • Build effective relationships with internal teams and customer contacts.
    • Provide guidance and training to junior engineers.
    • Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Other Duties
    • Participate in interest groups and contribute to continuous service improvement plans.
    • Maintain and acquire technical certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE).
    • Complete mandatory training and submit timesheets accurately and on time.
    • Complete other tasks as assigned by manager or by the company.

Qualifications
