Job summary

ING is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to build quality into mission-critical systems. You will design, implement, and maintain automated tests for web and API applications, collaborating with developers and DevOps to raise software quality.

The role requires strong Java skills, scripting, Selenium, REST API testing, and experience with CI/CD. You will advance test strategies, contribute to automation pipelines, and help reduce manual effort across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in test automation engineering.
• Strong programming experience in Java.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Go, Perl, or Shell.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and web test automation.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, XML, and automated API testing.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD tools, and modern software delivery practices.
• Knowledge of Oracle databases and automation using database scripts.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for web, API, and enterprise applications.
• Create automated functional, integration, and user acceptance testing frameworks.
• Develop test scripts and application configuration automation using scripting and database tools.
• Build and enhance automation pipelines that support continuous integration and delivery.
• Define effective test scenarios, including boundary, negative, and complex business cases.
• Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to improve software quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Review automated test code and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Drive process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce manual effort, and accelerate delivery.
• Support production issues and participate in critical incident resolution when required.
