Job summary

Skild AI Inc. is seeking a Robotics Engineer to own our teleop systems and improve data collection reliability through ongoing hardware and software integration, including VR headsets, trackers, and retargeting methods.

You will collaborate with ML, robotics, and data operations teams, serving as the first contact for teleop issues and helping define scalable methods for teaching robots at scale.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Python and C++.
• Experience developing or debugging software on real robots.
• Experience with teleoperation, VR/AR (OpenXR, Unity), or motion capture systems.

Responsibilities

• Triage and fix teleop issues that block data collection, from tracking and retargeting to latency and data recording.
• Build tools and monitoring that catch teleop failures before they cost collection time.
• Evaluate and integrate new teleop hardware and software, including VR headsets, glove and body trackers, and retargeting methods.
• Benchmark robot end-effectors for teleoperation performance and data quality.
• Work with operators to make teleop faster, more reliable, and easier to use.
