Job summary

Optum is seeking a Technology Project Consultant to plan, execute, and deliver technology projects within healthcare organizations. You will serve as a liaison between the client and Optum Connect, owning end-to-end client assignments and leading cross-functional teams.

The role requires 5+ years in IT project management, familiarity with MS Project or ServiceNow, and strong communication with onshore clients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT project management experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Experience with MS Project or ServiceNow.
• Basic understanding of IT infrastructure/SDLC.
• Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities.
• Customer service and teamwork orientation.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate with onshore clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end projects (clinical and non-clinical) for client initiatives, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables aligned with healthcare regulations and organizational goals.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
• Identify potential risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and IT teams to gather requirements and ensure smooth execution.
• Provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders, maintaining transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
• Drive status update calls with client leadership and act as the primary point of contact.
• Mentor team members and build project management capabilities within the team.
• Comply with employment terms and company policies; may transfer or reassign to different work locations as needed.

This role is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering technology projects within healthcare organizations. The individual will serve as a key liaison between the client and Optum Connect, ensuring seamless coordination and successful project delivery. The Project Manager will have end-to-end ownership of critical client assignments, including direct client-facing interactions and calls.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end projects (clinical and non-clinical) for client initiatives, ensuring timely and successful delivery
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables aligned with healthcare regulations and organizational goals
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies
• Identify potential risks and implement effective mitigation plans
• Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and IT teams to gather requirements and ensure smooth execution
• Provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders, maintaining transparency throughout the project lifecycle
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for audits and compliance purposes
• Drive status update calls with client leadership and act as the primary point of contact
• Mentor team members and build project management capabilities within the team

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in IT project management, preferably in healthcare
• Good experience of any of the project management tool e.g. MS Project, ServiceNow
• Basic understanding of the IT infrastructure/SDLC
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and manage competing priorities effectively
• Proven solid orientation toward customer service and teamwork
• Proven solid team-oriented skills and ability to lead cross functional teams
• Proven solid communication skills. Must have prior experience working with onshore clients

Preferred Qualifications:

• PMP or equivalent certification
• Familiarity with HIPAA or other compliance standards
